For ease of reading and so the cards will all go together, submissions should follow these guidelines:
- CARDS: 3"x5" vertical (or a size that can be resized to those dimensions without distortion ~ see diagram below)
- WORDS: A "starter" word list has been created and is available to everyone on request (see below), but you're very much encouraged to add or use your own words, but please use the preferred font in 18 pt. white type on a black background, with the word as a narrow horizontal bar near either the top or the bottom of the card. The font is Elegant Typewriter, available free from dafont.com
- INTERPRETATION: a short sentence about what the card might mean in a reading, or what it meant to you when you created it. The interpretation can either be printed out and added to the back of each card or added to a notebook for your own reference. No other text except the word itself should appear on the front of the cards.
I'll be showing a bunch of my cards right away to give everyone an idea of my original vision, and I'll be adding from other participants as well, as I receive them. To be notified when a new card is available, don't forget to subscribe to this blog.
SIZE: Below is a diagram of some other sizes to make cards if you find the 3"x5" format too small to work with. The diagonal line is to show how the cards can be "shrunk to size" without distorting the width/height ratio.
WORDS: I've created thee sheets of words to get you started. I'll post them below as low-res images to show you our starting place, but please contact me if you want them emailed to you as a high-res "ready-to-cut-and use" pdf, or have a high-quality hard copy mailed to you.
I've also created a checklist so you can keep track of which cards you've already created or received as part of the project. It will be emailed to you with the word list. You can write cards you create using your own words on the back of the sheet as well.
I hope to print decks of cards at the end of the year, or to print smaller batches of cards as the year progresses, but since costs will be based on total number of cards created plus number of people who might want the whole deck, I'll be reviewing costs and numbers as we go along.
PLEASE NOTE : There is NO obligation to buy any printed cards from me at any time. You may download the posted cards and print them out yourself, or just keep them as digital files if you wish. Also, be aware that by contributing your cards to the project you are giving other group participants the right to download and print your cards as they wish as well.
